The fog

It seems as if the fog ( me doing nothing) is starting to shift. The winter months as far as energy have turned into the fog as I call it. Shortly after thanksgiving our oldest daughter decided to move out and of course when your child leaves it's a emotional process. So that mixed in holiday preparations was. Little different this year. I really tried to just let things happen as far as not forcing plans or making a huge list of things to do... So now it being the early part of January having put all the Christmas decor away.....the rush of organization is kicking in, projects, ideas of all sorts are popping into my head. So today I'm hoping to start my daughters redo for her bedroom, painting, going through stuff and taking things to goodwill( purge and merge) she has had wood paneling on her walls since we bought the house 18 years ago and have painted it all sorts of pretty colors and it's going down,,,finally going down. Hopefully not a mess behind it. Looking at all the other walls and it being a old house with some plaster walls....it's all in fantastic shape so let's keep our fingers crossed.

Someday's you find art and someday's it finds you!

So after spending some time making some prints with my gelli plate. I always rub off my roller on a sheet of paper under my plate. So after putting everything away I looked down and took out my water colors and just played with what I had (leftovers) and this is what came of doodling around. A cute playful house...I kinda have a thing for houses! Sometimes playing with mistakes or just what you have in front of you turns into something that makes you smile!

What is a Artist to you? What is your Art?

Mixed media tends to refer to a work of visual art that combines various traditionally distinct visual art media. For example, a work on canvas that combines paint, ink, and collage could properly be called a "mixed media" work!

The word art derives from the Latin "ars" (stem art-), which, although literally defined, means "skill method" or "technique", and conveys a connotation of beauty.

The present day concept of an 'artist

Artist is a descriptive term applied to a person who engages in an activity deemed to be an art. An artist also may be defined unofficially as "a person who expresses him- or herself through a medium". The word is also used in a qualitative sense of, a person creative in, innovative in, or adept at, an artistic practice.

ME:
In Looking at several definitions of a Artist, I would like to say I'am it sounds defined ..or to be a lover of paper, paint & scissors sounds just as good too..lol. Some people have said your a crafty person, creative.. and I say thank you! Everyone has a gift, a art of something...how you pour it out of you and show the world to me is what art is!

This will be a new place for me to share my love of Art and creativity to You, my Family and Friends! I find that I feel more myself when creating a collage, playing with color's and just getting my hands in the mix of it. To me Art is my home from home that allows me to express my feelings and thoughts creatively. I hope this to be a place you can come to and enjoy along with me and share in conversation or just stop and visit!

I will be back soon with more to share. Enjoy this amazing day!
